After sole-trading as Pang Design for eight years, Julian Pang formed a partnership with friend and mentor, Andrew Haig, in 2006 and called themselves Pang & Haig Design.
Julian Pang started trading as a designer and illustrator in 1998. In 2000 Pang opened ‘Ah Mu’, an award winning restaurant in Melbourne whilst still running his design studio. Ah Mu was sold in 2003 when Pang started a family. He now lives in the southern suburbs of Melbourne with his wife and three children.
Andrew Haig has almost 30 years experience as a print and interactive communications designer. He has worked for a few leading consultancies and taught for over a decade at Swinburne University’s School of Design, in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He has a Master’s Degree in Design.
Pang and Haig met in 1993 when Pang was a student at Swinburne University’s School of Design, where Haig was his lecturer. They have been fast friends ever since and in 2004 begun to share a studio. In 2006, they incorporated as Pang & Haig Design.
They enjoyed the partnership for more than five years. Three of which was in a Melbourne city studio where they delivered a wide scope of creative services: branding, illustration, photography, publication design, imaging and multimedia.
Haig left the partnership in 2011 to pursue his PhD. Since they remained good friends, Pang kept the business name. He also gave up the city office and built a studio in his backyard.
Equipped with hi-speed internet, Julian Pang in his home studio continues to deliver a high-end service to his clients while being able to satisfy his role as father of three.
